Year 2023:

A banquet to celebrate knowledge, and show gratitude to our seniors who has been a pioneer in serving the Khmer American community for decades.

As a CEO of KAF, I would like to admire the high sacrifice of Mr. Marith Chhang and Mr. Van Sar who have done everything to support, strengthen and preserve our Khmer culture, culture, nation, religion, and identity, even though we have been migrated to a third country, so far away from our homeland for so many years.

A most revere event and memorable night to recognize and appreciate all the hard work that our respectful elders and senior community leaders have tirelessly continued to strive for promoting and preserving our rich cultural heritage and strengthening our Cambodian-American community bonds across the United States for many decades. Their hard work and dedications have paved the paths for our younger generations to continue cultivating and enriching our cultural values and our presence in mainstream communities as well. Thank you with utmost respect for all your hard work, commitments, and dedications.

Email from the director:

Dear KAF Members and Friends,

I sincerely appreciate very much the opportunities afforded me during my different tenure at the Khmer Alliance Foundation (KAF), a charitable and non-profit organization 501 (c-3). KAF was established in 1988, and registered in 1989 in Sacramento, State of California. My resignation toady concerns mainly my health situation and my willingness to leave the Khmer Alliance Foundation {KAF). Cordially, I am pleased to let you that it is my pleasure to work with you all, collaborating in professional manner always. Thanks!

As a founding member, I have been respectively offered different position to serve KAF’s goals, performing divers tasks, from position as KAF’s Secretary to KAF President in 34 years period. KAF was also registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia, serving in the peace resettlement, social development and rebuilding of Cambodia, along with the UNTAC operations. During the years, I had participated all along to serve Cambodia and her people, under KAF advocacy and  projects.  We had done together numerous things, perishable donation for immediate needs, and unperishable objects for permanent structures or long term service, such as community hall, schoolhouse, libraries, and irrigation canals for farmers of Longvek village, in Kompong Chhnang Province, donation of books in university and ministries, and free English classes, across Cambodia.

I am grateful for the opportunity I received at KAF, as well as the support and encouragement from all members and supporters, who were dedicated generously. Without you, KAF could not achieve those tremendous works. Wish you have to visit them!

For now, please know that KAF is having no going on project suspended, due to the impact of COVID-19. Everything is at the ready for my successor to continue. If I may be of any assistance during this two-weeks transition period, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Best Regards,

Daniel C Marith

NB: This correspondence is in regard to my tender resignation from my position as Kaf President, effective two weeks from today, January 5 to January 20,  2023.

Symposium on Election (May 1st 2022):

This year KAF had an “2022’s SYMPOSIUM” via ZOOM Conference, Sunday May 1st, 2022. The main theme of this Symposium is the “Elections in Cambodia.” It is so chosen because Cambodia will organize two elections in a row, 2022 and 2023, according to the Cambodian Electoral Law.

The first election, in this year, is the votes for Communal Chiefs or Mekhum / Chao Sangkat, who are the immediate authority close to people in the local area. The second elections involve the votes for Representatives of and for the people in districts in a general election for national legislatives in National Assembly.

As we all know, elections are the backbones for democracy. We had many elections in the past. Beside the ones which were organized by UNTAC in 1993, they were subjected to contestations and protests, sometime terribly violent.

In this year Symposium, our moderators and presenters will share their thoughts in three panels: 1) on Political Parties, 2) on Free and Fair Elections, and 3) on Election Integrities. They are intended for those who want to be elected successfully, and those who are supposed to vote in the coming elections to choose the best candidate of their choice. The candidate who has goodwill to take care and serve them and their community, and for the interest of the country. The May 1st SYMPOSIUM will start from 7:00AM Pacific Standard Time (U.S and Canada) for 4 hours.

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CAMBODIA

Dear beloved Khmer Compatriots:

Beginning in 1993, the general situation of human rights in Cambodia had been improved considerably. But by the end of 2016, the situation had steadily changed, and deeply deteriorated in September 3, 2017 with dissolution of opposition party in November 16, 2017, a “death of democracy,” deeply disappointed by all. As we know Cambodia is now facing with a great danger.

Therefore, we like to invite you to attend the “INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CAMBODIA”, July 25 – 26th, 2020 in Seattle, WA (USA). It is time to address the situation, and to discuss our deep concerns about declining of human rights, depleting of natural resources, and the territorial integrity carelessness. The INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CAMBODIA is aimed to:

  1. Sharing bad news over negative human rights, and seeking specific solutions;
  2. 2. Inviting all compatriots to help find solution over irrational exploitation of national resources, and stopping damage of life-support system; and
  3. Requesting international intervention under the terms and conditions of the Paris Peace Agreement of October 23, 1991 on Cambodia.

Please join us to save Cambodia.

Thank you, seek seeking
